THE STORY: | |
| One day I was listening to this song, and when the first male chorus came on ("they threw me out of town, said i'm a hooligan/they never want to see my ugly face again") I realized that that worked very well for Wesley in his post-Lullaby funk. And then I realized that the female lyrics would work for Lilah. With the Wes/Lilah story coming to a logical stopping point in Habeas Corpses, I decided it was time to go for it.

the future is clear let's get into gear i'm willing to ask do you wanna go my way? you're out on your own you're never alone there's people around but do you wanna go my way? they threw me out of town, said i'm a hooligan they never want to see my ugly face again i'm looking for a ride, i need to get someplace i'm feeling disillusioned with the human race heat on the skyline, have you got the time? i'll sit here by the road for yet another day but whatever road you're taking, i will go that way there's trouble in town they wanna see you go down let's make our escape do you wanna go my way? i'll give you what's mine i'll throw you a line just make up your mind do you wanna go my way? what do you want me to say? just give me a little trust and answer me do you wanna go my way? i don't know where i am, but it's a long way from home i haven't got a penny for the telephone i don't know who my friend are, who my friends will be but i'm feeling like it's happening for you and me you're my driver, i'm your passenger the night is looking friendlier than any day we're racing into it, and i will go that way the future is bright we'll drive by night if anyone asks we're busy making our own way we'll sleep in the shade and watch what we've made they'll never catch on so do you wanna go my way? what do you want me say? just give me a little trust --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
FEEDBACKsockkpuppett writes: Vrya! I've seen Bright Side of Life and Detour. I giggled through the first and was mesmerized by the second. This is a perfect Lilah song, and it is beautifully done. It was a perfect song choice, and your clip choices were marvelous. I really liked your flash clips of W/L in bed, and the timing was wonderful, pulling me along into the vid. Also, nice mirroring images near the end. Very very impressive. I hope you keep it up. :) neige writes: You know, I think Detour seriously rocks. I didn't know that song before, but now I totally love it, it's so Wes/Lilah! The beginning is perfect and I particularly like the first scene you chose of Lilah's legs walking to Wes. It fits so well with the beginning of the song ;) In fact, every scenes you chose fit well. I like that you used scenes other than Wes/Lilah ones, to show what was hapenning to Wes periphically. Really good. I don't think the end is too long. It fits with the song and it is a very important scene. Oh, I also like the stroboscope effect you created ;) I have no idea how you did that! I preferred the other beginning, but the new end. You added many scenes and that's cool. Wes is just yum :) devilbunny writes: Detour managed to be gritty and glossy all the same time, not to mention perfect for Wes and Lilah. palanquinus writes: I loved Detour- a perfect run down of wes and Lilah's relationship. I especially like the opening sequence, as well as the repetitive image thing you had going on. This is the type of thing that people unfamiliar with the whole Wes/ Lilah thing could still appreciate. It rocked. [submit the feedback form] [more stuff]
